Common questions about using IlmMaps.
After signing in, your dashboard shows the full library organised by subject. Use the search bar at the top to look for a specific book or topic by name.
Drag anywhere to pan around the map. To zoom, scroll on desktop, pinch on mobile, or use the +/- buttons in the toolbar. Click any node to select it and see its full text. To expand or collapse a node's branches, click the node or press Enter. Arrow keys move between topics. A number badge on the node shows how many hidden children it has.
You can also switch to Outliner view using the button in the toolbar. This shows the same content as a collapsible nested list, which some find easier to read linearly.
Make sure you are using the same email address you signed up with. If you signed up using Google, use the "Sign in with Google" button rather than email and password.
If you are still stuck, email us at [email protected] and we will sort it out for you.
The full Sīrah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) collection (7 maps), the Divine Reality map, and the growing Islamic Library shelf (starting with the 15th of Shaʿbān map) are fully free for all registered users. That is 9 open maps today, and you can access them from your dashboard without a paid plan.
The Student plan covers every standard map in the library plus the A.Ilm tutor at 20 questions a day. The Teacher and Institution plans add the Supplementary Maps shelf and raise A.Ilm to 30 questions a day. Dark mode and outliner view are included for everyone, free plan included.
Go to your Account page and click "Cancel subscription." You keep full access until the end of your current billing period. No fees, no hassle.
Yes. Go to your Account page, open the Billing Portal, and you can change your billing frequency from there. The annual plan works out to two months free compared to monthly.
We will email you and try again over the next few days. If it is still failing after a week, your account will be paused. You can reactivate anytime by updating your card in the Billing Portal.
Many teachers connect their laptop to a projector and walk through the mindmap with students. The Outliner view is useful for going through a text linearly, while the mindmap view helps students see how topics connect.
For students to follow along on their own devices, each student needs their own IlmMaps account. See "Can my students get access?" below.
On the Teacher plan you can run your own classroom: add up to 15 of your own students at $7 a month each, assign books, track pacing, and set quizzes. Students can also sign up for the Student Plan themselves at $14 a month. If your institution wants to cover everyone centrally, ask your admin to set up an Institution Plan. They can then invite teachers directly from the dashboard.
Yes. The mindmaps work on mobile browsers using pinch-to-zoom and drag to pan. The Outliner view (accessible from the toolbar) is particularly well-suited to mobile as it reads as a vertical list.
Click the moon icon in the top-right corner of any page. Your preference is saved automatically and will apply across all pages.
IlmMaps works on all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend keeping your browser up to date for the best experience.
Everything a madrasah needs to run on one standard: year-led classes with per-book teacher assignment, curriculum pacing built from your term dates and holidays, an exam builder with a gradebook and printable report cards, substitute coverage when a teacher is away, a teaching dashboard for every teacher, and per-student progress. Every teacher seat carries the full Teacher plan, and A.Ilm is included for every student seat.
Once your Institution Plan is active, go to People & seats in your Institute Dashboard. Enter each teacher's email address and send them an invite, or paste a whole list to invite everyone at once. You can invite students the same way, and resend any pending invite. They will receive an email with a link to activate their access.
You buy a named seat for each teacher at $18 per month, so invite as many as you teach with. You can invite up to 50 students yourself. Students pay their own $7 a month seat, or you can sponsor any of them on your bill. For larger institutions, contact us at [email protected] and we will build the plan with you.
All teacher accounts linked to your institution will be paused. Each teacher will receive an email explaining what happened and offering them the option to continue with an individual Teacher Plan.
Yes. Go to People & seats in your Institute Dashboard, find the teacher in the list, and click Revoke. Their access is removed immediately and the seat becomes available again.
